Baler is the capital and oldest municipality of Aurora Province. It is located at about the mid point, on the east coast of the main island of Luzon. The town faces the deep blue of the Pacific Ocean, which gives it the surf that it is renowned for. It is the center for trade and industry and the most progressive town in Aurora which is known for numerous tourist attractions.
Baler is known for its Baler Catholic Church and other historical sites. Also their beaches like Sabang Beach and Cemento Beach, also the coral-rich islands of Dimadimalangat, Aniao and Lukso-Lukso lie just off the coast.
Sabang Beach is a gray sand beach located at Sabang, Baler.
Cemento Beach & Reef is compose of White sand, seashells, and crushed corals. The area is recommended for expert or professional surfers as the waves break at the reef and are of the right-hand break type. Waves usually tower up to 14 feet high, making for excellent and challenging surfing destination.
Dimadimalangat Islet is a small island that serves as a point identifying the southernmost tip of Baler Bay. During low tide, this islet becomes a peninsula, of sorts, where one could walk and wade from the reef shore to this natural rock formation.
Aniao Islets, two small but imposing islands lie south of the islet of Dimadimalangat.
Lukso-Lukso Islets is an island formation which is the southernmost point and is accessible to vehicles coming from Baler. The sea bottom and undersea reefs around these islets are reportedly good areas for diving, and during calm months, snorkeling.
