Bantayan Island
Bantayan island, the shining tropical paradise in Asia is commonly known as an island paradise in Philippines. Tourists as far as Europe fall in love with its fine white sand and crystal clear blue waters. Many of these foreigners even settled down on the island to spend the rest of their lives.
They build single-cottage beach houses along the shore but as time went by, construct a couple of new cottages instead to accommodate the growing number of tourists who seeks safe haven on the splendid island paradise. Two of the main attraction of the island is its crystal-clear waters and it's long stretch of powdery white sand. The stunning sunset will really spice those romantic walks on the beach. One of the reasons the island is famous is its peacefulness, the way a resort should be. Unsaturated beauty and a combination of sweet smiling natives made the island as it is now. Bantayan is one of the well-known tourist destinations in the country.
Aside from having one of the oldest churches in the Visayas and Mindanao, it is also known for its white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. Beach resorts line the island's shores and offer a mixture of local and international cuisine. Vast arrays of seafood are also served in most restaurants in the area. Varieties of dried fish, locally known as buwad, also abound in the island and are a favorite pasalubong for local and foreign tourists. Bantayan Island is essentially a fishing island group. It is reported to be within the migration route of fish coming from the equatorial belt of China Sea. Bantayan is blessed with abundant fish because of its strategic location.
However, during recent days marine resources are declining due to over fishing, blasting, use of poison, use of fine mesh nets, and the intrusion of commercial fishing boats within the municipal waters. Bantayan Island is worth a visit, especially if you’re in Cebu already but I don’t think I would be able to stay any longer than 2 days (it could get really boring). Anyway, it IS beautiful - see for yourself below
