Taal Lake
Taal Volcano is on an island within Taal Lake which sits in an ancient caldera. Located in Tagaytay it is about a 2 hour trip, 70-km south of Manila It's suitable for day trips and overnighters. Inside the main caldera,on volcano island, there is yet another lake, called the "Crater Lake." The highly sulfuric lake may have medicinal properties.
People do swim in it, some have even SCUBA dived in it. On the way to Tagaytay and Taal Volcano we will visit the famous Bamboo Organ in Las Pinas, and then Picnic Groove lookout for some spectacular views of the volcano you will shortly ascend. After the Volcano trek you will be toured around Tagaytay and visit such places as Palace in the Sky and Paradise Zoo. Known to be the world’s smallest active volcano, Taal can be the best seen at the island itself, horse ride up to the volcano’s rim and witness another magnificent lake inside the volcano.
Optional Tagaytay ridge is surrounded by lush greenery hills and blessed with cool, breezy weather. Taal volcano tour is a soft adventure tour. Morning departure from Manila to a lake shore town called Talisay. The short drive from Tagaytay down to the lake is a breathtaking experience in a descending narrow road that winds to a jump off point to the island volcano.
